Sunderland Nosh and Natter Night
9th December 2009 By Bob Ferry
Sunderland Speedway supporters held a Nosh and Natter night on Saturday 21st November. It wasnt a full blown reunion as such, but a pleasant get-together of speedway friends.

Among those who attended where former riders Vic White, Pete Wrathall, Pete Wigley, Dai Evans, Geoff Bouchard, Andy Meldrum came with former Sunderland Team Manager Ken Taylor, Brian Johnson, Rob Grant (snr), Rob Grant (jnr) and young New Zealand rider Jade Mudgway, who rode for Buxton last season.  Jade rode for Sunderland in a junior match at Redcar in 2008.

What started off as a little gathering of friends having a meal together, snowballed to 50 plus having a pre-Xmas dinner at our new venue at the Little Haven Hotel, South Shields.  They looked after us very well and provided us with an excellent meal.

Vic White and Pete Wrathall were both feeling a little under the weather, Vic having to miss most of the evening and had his meal in his hotel room.  Lets hope both are back to full health.

The nice thing about our reunions/get togethers, is that some of the guys come back time after time, Pete Wigley makes a 800 mile round trip!  These guys make the effort to attend so I guess we must be doing something right to make them want to attend time after time. Very much appreciated lads .... and the ladies who travel with them.
