A new Millen to try his hand at speedway in New Zealand!
By Sunderland Speedway - Saturday 7th January 2012
Hunter Freeman, grandson of the late Jack Millen, and son of Jack’s eldest daughter Jacqueline, is trying his hand at
speedway. Still a youngster, Hunter rode a
speedway bike for the first time last season.
This season under the guidance of well
respected speedway folk such as Bob
Andrews and his son. Barry Briggs and son
Tony, Jason Bunyan now riding with Len
Silver’s Rye House, and others are all helping
the lad. Hunter is making steady progress at
junior level.
He has spent many hours learning the business under their
watchful eye - the mechanical side, laying a track, tyre packing,
soaking up advice on being a speedway rider etc.
So here’s hoping we hear more from young Hunter, we’ll keep an
eye on his development, and wish him all the best.
Jack would be proud of him I’m sure.
