Another "Kiwi" and third heat-leader, John looked like he could really do the business for
the "Stars" in 1971. His Average of 6.43, perhaps didn't reflect the true potential that he
showed the Home fans, that is until he unexpectedly walked out on the team in mid season.
The reason was never explained to the fans, who thought the world of him, and he was a
huge loss to the struggling team, John was never really replaced. John competed in just
17 league matches for the Stars, often scoring double figures. He left leaving us to wonder
what might have been.
