Yet another four point rider, and like the others he promised more then he could deliver. John
rode in 20 League and Cup matches for his 4.05 average, with the highlight being a top
scoring 12 points against Hull Vikings around the Hull track.
One amusing story... In a pre-match race to decide the final Reserve spot in the Team, John
was leading by a mile when he slid off, he was so angry with himself that he took off his
helmet as he walked back to the pits, and kicked it high into the sky, much higher than I
would ever have believed possible.
